FOOTBALL F.A.Q.'s
Updated as of January 2022

Q:  What is your cancellation policy?

A:  We don't want to penalize parents financially. However, there are expenses that the HB Jr Cavs pay on your behalf that can't be refunded. If your child does not want to participate after the first practice, we can't give refunds. At this point, we have already spent the registration fee getting ready for the season and invested in the equipment, etc. Cancellation requests submitted to the President prior to May 15 will be granted a 100% refund. Between May 16 and the date of the first practice, a refund of the Registration Fee is available less a $25 administrative fee. There are no refunds after the date of the first practice and no refunds for clinic registration fees. Thanks for your understanding.

Q:  What league(s) will the HB Jr Cavs play in during the season?

A:  American Youth Football League (AYF) through the New Hampshire Youth Football & Spirit Conference.

Q:  Will there be a limit to the number of players on each team?

A:  Yes, there will be a limit of 25 players per team and we will compile a wait list after that.

Q:  Is there a weight limit?

A:  There are no weight limits on any of the current or potential teams.

Q:  How far will we travel for games?

A:  The furthest is 1 hour and 30 minutes.  Typically games are much closer.

Q:  When do practices start?

A:  AYF Practices start at the very end of July or the 1st Monday in August.  NHYFSC sets the date.  The date varies year to year.

Q:  What is the charge for lost equipment?

A:  Practice jerseys $60, Game jerseys $80, pants $50, helmets $300, shoulder pads $180, miscellaneous pads $30.

Q:  Do you hold Football Camps?

A: Yes, we do and we feel they are a great opportunity to learn about football or brush up on specific skills without contact or equipment. It is also an opportunity to meet the coaches, past HB players, and teammates to get you ready for the season, or just have some mid-summer football fun right in Hollis Brookline.  A season commitment is NOT required to attend the camps.

Q. What ages can attend the camp?

A:  Grades 2nd through 8th (for the upcoming school year) will be accommodated for the camps.
